As one of the most influential online design platforms worldwide, NewYork-based Core77.com has served a devoted global audience of designers ranging from students through seasoned professionals since 1995.
I worked for Core 77 as a freelance design journalist, trend scout and photographer, covering design-relevant topics from artisanal paper production in Bhutan to new trends and technologies at London Design Festival, designer studio visits in Cologne and the Burning Man festival in Nevada, generating between 20 and 70 thousand views per article.

The paper made in Bhutan is based on unique materials of the Himalaya, the bark of the The Daphne Papyri, which can be found at altitudes of 3,000 feet and above, the bark of the Edgeworthia Papyri, plus various additional ingredients like flowers and leaves (for example from the ubiquitous chili and hemp plants), to add textures and patterns.
